Central Coast holiday lettings are experiencing a big spike in demand

Wednesday 16, Sep 2020

With restrictions on travel international and many interstate destinations, Central Coast holiday letting specialists are enjoying an extraordinary boom in domestic bookings.

The lead up to the spring school holidays has seen enormous pent-up demand convert into bookings as people trade long and mid-haul holidays for exploring their own state.

“Everything’s just exploded,” said Stephen Brooks, Principal of Accom Holidays.

“We can’t keep up with the demand for the homestay accommodation – it’s non-stop. It’s great for locals and the region.”

“Travellers, particularly out of Sydney, are booking weekends and holidays well in advance, and talking to local businesses, there is an enormous number of people coming up for day trips too. Some exclusive properties on the Central Coast are booking out for $28,000 per week."

The Central Coast's accessibility, nature, beaches and outdoor experiences give the Central Coast strong competitive advantages as a COVID-safe holiday destination.

Central Coast hotels, resorts, campgrounds and holiday parks are also seeing strong demand and longer stays with travellers adding Thursdays and Sunday nights to their weekend bookings due to changed work circumstances.

Many hotels and holiday parks are reporting similar or better number than the same time last year.

Subject to COVID-19 cases remaining low, industry experts predict a very busy December and January holiday period.
