National Visitor Survey Results for the Year to May 2020

Monday 17, Aug 2020

Tourism Research Australia have released the National Visitor Survey results summarising domestic overnight visitation statistics for the five months of 2020. The results, as expected, show significant downturns in visitor numbers across all states and territories, in particular during the months of April and May when the effects of COVID-19 lockdown restrictions on travel and social gatherings were at their height.  New South Wales experienced an 88% decline in domestic visitors during the month of April, and a 68% decline during the month of May.
